Welcome to the research section of the Waikato Management School's website. In these pages we present an overview of the School's key research activities.

Waikato Management School staff and postgraduate students undertake theoretical and applied research within all of the core disciplines of management. In addition, the School's research portfolio features an increasing number of multidisciplinary projects aligned with the government's national goals and the priorities of external funding agencies. The aim of the School's research is to increase knowledge and shape management theory, influence business practice, and inform public policy in New Zealand and around the globe. As our faculty are actively engaged in research, the School's teaching programmes are informed by leading-edge theories and case studies. Research serves as an integrator of the School's activities by bridging between teaching and practice.

Details of staff research publications are summarised in a searchable database. Evidence of excellent research performance by Waikato Management School staff, as demonstrated in the inaugural New Zealand research quality evaluation results, is provided. In addition, research awards presented by the Dean to outstanding emerging scholars since 1994 are listed, also listed is the Dean's Award for Research Excellence, presented since 2007.

Teams of Waikato Management School staff work together on external research grants. Descriptions of the major externally-funded research programmes are summarised, with links to other specific websites where they exist.  In addition, the School's sustainability research projects are profiled as they illustrate the School's commitment to sustainable business success.

Each year, the School hosts a series of research events which include conferences and public seminars. The current calendar of events is provided, along with an archive of these major research activities.

All staff and student research is carried out in accordance with the principles of research ethics. Further details of the School's processes for ethical approval are provided on the intranet.

Finally, links are provided to the School's research centres and other research links including the School's student research and the University of Waikato research websites.
