Welcome to the Department of Strategy and Human Resource Management (S&HRM)!
Our department houses several disciplines: Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, International Management,Social Enterprise.
We are home to the Waikato Management School Case Competition and the University of Waikato National Case Competition Team.
Research

Student Clubs

Human Resources Students Association (HRSA) is a student group at the University of Waikato. HRSA aims to connect students to HRINZ and its Waikato Branch. It is a networking group to provide knowledge and opportunities for students interested in the area of Human Resources. The club will accomplish this by:
• Providing an arena for students to discuss new developments and issues surrounding Human Resources in New Zealand.
• Promoting opportunities for student involvement and interaction with Human Resource practitioners.
• Organising activities that allow for student development in Human Resource Management.
• Creating an opportunity for students of all year levels majoring in Human Resources at the University of Waikato to share their ideas, experiences and advice with other club members.

ENACTUS (Entrepreneurs in Action, Us)
Enactus (formally SIFE) is part of the global non-profit organisation Enactus Worldwide that motivates students to develop entrepreneurial outreach projects that improve the quality of life and standard of living for people in need. Enactus Waikato is made of students from different Faculties . Enactus started at the University of Waikato Campus in 2002 under its previous name SIFE and University of Waikato Teams have competed world wide at SIFE world Championships. Teams have been to Paris, Washington DC, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Mainz and Barcelona.
