Finance students at the University of Waikato come from all over the world. This diversity enriches the programmes of study, ensuring there is coverage of both mature and developing markets. In addition issues concerning how religious, ethnic and gender diversity impact upon return and risk in the valuation of markets is important in the modern global economy. Student clubs and societies provide an opportunity to mix in social and academic settings. Sporting pursuits are well catered for beyond the New Zealand national games of rugby and cricket to include soccer, golf, tennis, badminton, table tennis, equestrian pursuits, skiing, rowing and surfing plus many others.
The key to success in studying finance, in our department, is working hard both as an individual and in teams, because we aim for excellence.
