This paper develops in managers an appreciation for the legal constraints of business activities from the fundraising/incorporation stages into operation and ultimately the exit from a business. We focus on maintaining superb employment relations from hiring through dismissal based on a solid understanding of employment law regulations in NZ. The outcome of this paper is a heightened awareness of the impact of legal rules when operating a business and the ability to anticipate legal challenges.  

Integrative Case Study

This is a capstone paper at the end of MBA Part One and the Postgraduate Diploma Programme in Management Studies. It seeks to integrate all those learnings into a real life case study. You will work in teams to either develop a strategy for a real organisation or validate/extend an existing organisation strategy. This will be a two day exit residency and the outcome will be presented in a case study competition format.

This paper is designed to strengthen leadership at the individual and organisational levels. At the individual level, the paper will explore assumptions, beliefs, and values embedded. You will be exposed to what is involved in effective self-leadership and practice how to utilise the power of commitment, vision and sense-making. These are essential to high-performing organisations and require authentic leadership that is sustainable

Strategic Value Creation 

This paper will reinforce and expand your knowledge gained during the MBA. Further exploration of creative thinking, gain mastery of the tools of innovation and exhibit enterprising behaviours will prepare you for sustained value creation.    You will gain a competitive understanding of idea creation and screening for both profit and not for profit organisations and be able to demonstrate the alignment of thinking, innovation and leadership to capture opportunities and drive them to successful outcomes.

Carry out extensive research based on what you have learnt throughout your MBA and provide recommendations on how to overcome a problem or implement strategies for business development, innovation or growth.
