The Waikato MBA is a world-class, highly practical qualification. It is designed to equip managers and business owners with the dynamic capabilities and strategic insights needed to drive their organisation forwards.
The Waikato Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a life-changing two-year programme; custom-made with input from New Zealand business leaders. It's designed to propel you into senior leadership roles such as general manager or chief executive officer.
You'll gain expertise in best business practices, and learn how to implement value creation strategies that can radically transform organisations and the people within them.
The Waikato MBA puts a strong focus on leadership development, as well as general management skills. One of the highlights is an international study tour, where you'll learn first-hand about doing business in other countries.
You'll be taught by top lecturers with international teaching experience. They are also sought-after business consultants and active researchers, with links to some of the world's leading companies.
Our students enjoy inspiring presentations from guest speakers in industry, and go on field trips to visit successful local businesses.
In 2016 we opened a brand new Law and Management Building, offering spacious study areas with the latest technology.

General Manager Keys Social Housing, an entity within Wise Group
Prior to starting the MBA programme, I was looking for an opportunity that would give me career progression and expand my professional network.
Coming from a background in the health sector, I wanted a business qualification that would enable me to move into management roles in other industries with confidence. The MBA most definitely helped me achieve this.
When I began my new role as General Manager Keys Social Housing I was able to put all my MBA skills into practice and add value to the company right from the start. I’m still using many of the tools I was given 12 months down the track.
I loved learning about marketing and strategy, and being pushed outside my comfort zone with accounting papers. Going to China and learning about business from a whole new perspective was an incredible experience too.
Balancing full time work, study and family was a little tricky at times. It took a partnership between you, work and home to make it successful. I feel very happy and fulfilled knowing my family have seen me succeed and achieve my career goals.
