We recommend that students who want to complete a degree with a first major in economics complete either a Bachelor of Business Analysis (Financial), Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours, or Bachelor of Social Science. See below for degree planners tailored to economics students enrolled in these degrees.

Economics may also be taken as part of other University of Waikato degrees such as the Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Environmental Planning, Bachelor of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, and Bachelor of Science.

For further information about Waikato Management School qualifications (including the Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Management Studies with Honours, and the Bachelor of Business Analysis (Financial)) you should begin by consulting the School's Qualifications website.

For programme advice, you should contact one of the Undergraduate Convenors or the Management Student Centre. Honours students must meet with one of the Graduate Convenors to have their honours programme approved.
